Great White Shark Expedition - South Africa Accommodations
Based in beautiful Simon's Town, South Africa - a safe, charming
little community, rich in nautical history, located some 22 miles
(35 kilometres) south of Cape Town - our team will enjoy an incredible
10-day experience with the White Sharks of False Bay.
Originally built in 1897 in the Victorian style, the British Hotel
has recently been converted to four spacious self-catering apartments
and four courtyard suites. Our 2004 White Shark Expedition groups
will share two of the apartments, each of which have a well-equipped
kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large common area that
is ideal for lectures, discussions, and relaxed socializing.
Simon's Town offers numerous restaurants and cafes,
ranging from casual pub-style eateries to fine dining. Dining
out in Simon's Town is remarkably inexpensive - a fine steak dinner,
complimented by South African wine and dessert, might cost US$10 to
US$15.
Located within easy walking distance is Boulders Beach, where hundreds
of Jackass Penguins can be observed going about their comical business.
Package price includes: airport pick-up and drop-off, 15
nights' accommodations, all breakfasts and on-board lunches, 10
days of White Shark observation from cage and the deck of our research
vessel, travel to and from our research site off Seal Island, dive
gear rental, and unlimited access to Expedition biologists and naturalists. Does
NOT include airfare.
